Mental Health: Disorder and Treatment

I BELIEVE that everything in our life should be done and feeling with balance. All the issues and disorders come when emotionally we are not aligned.

If we got an old scale and we start to “measure” our emotions, we will also be able to “measuring” the way how we feel and the way our eyes see the world.

Keep in mind, “The way how we think, is the way how we live”.

More positive and balanced thoughts lead to more happy feelings, therefore lead to more emotional and mental health. Is a cycle, yes, is always a cycle!

Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading, according to World Health Organization (WHO).

Mental disorder is a disease caused by a combination of biological and environmental factors.

Stress events, such as the first day at school, the first day of a new job in a new company, giving a speech, going for the interview of your life, moving or the loss of a parent or grandparent, may cause emotional reactions that can trigger the onset of anxiety disorder.

This mental disorder step in, with your thoughts, beliefs, feelings, behavior that leads to disturbances of your daily routine and your life.

Anything, constant and persistent, that causes changes in your mental health is a disorder.

From all my readings, Mental Health disorders are TREATABLE! The first thing to do, is to go to the doctor. Treat your mental health the same way you treat your physical disorders or illness.

How can you treat Mental Health Disorders?

There is no perfect treatment, everyone is different and what can help one cannot fit another. We will share some treatments according to Mental Health America, in their site.

Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental illness provided by a trained mental health professional. Psychotherapy explores thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and seeks to improve an individual’s well-being.

Medication paired with psychotherapy is the most effective way to promote recovery.

Case management – A case manager can help assess, plan, and implement a number of strategies to facilitate recovery.

Complementary & Alternative Medicine, or CAM, refers to treatment and practices that are not typically associated with standard care.

A study made it in 2012, by Mental Health America, “Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM); A COMPARATIVE EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACH TO COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS”, shows us an alternative treatment as meditation, can help mental health disorders.

They mention a lot of treatments, that you can follow in the link below. This study derived mainly from published sources. Is an incredible help! Completed free =)

In this study, they focus on the benefits of Complementary & Alternative Medicine and on treatments and how they help the mental disorder.

This study says, “CAM treatments are more often complements than alternatives when standard treatments do not fully relieve the symptoms or cause side effects that can be mitigated by CAM. Many – though by no means all – have minimal side effects and drug interactions. And the low cost of some CAM treatments (despite the lack of insurance reimbursement) is an additional appeal for many consumers.

“Meditation is especially beneficial for reducing stress. Studies show it can also reduce depression and anxiety (mental health disorder), and help people manage chronic pain.”

The study above also refers to yoga, wellness, mindfulness, medication. they divided the treatment regarding the type of mental health disorder.
